Skoura At A Snail’s Pace
I am inching my way through Morrocco. After three nights in Dades Gorge, I moved one hour West and spent three nights in Skoura, a dusty little town known for its UNESCO-protected palm groves and a 17th Century Kasbah featured on the 50 Dirham bill. I’m coming upon my three-month travel anniversary, so I think I’m moving even slower than I normally do. But at this rate, I will never make it out of the desert!

I haven’t been doing much. I finished two books, one of which I’ve been dragging around since week three. Every day, I take out the mountain bike and bike through little villages and into the bumpy paths amongst the palm trees. Around every corner are the crumbling walls of a ruined kasbah. I’ve always been a little challenged on a bicycle so I try not to fall down irrigation ditches or eat it in the rocky sandy parts.
