They Really Do Have Tea Leaf Salad in Myanmar!

The first line reads "tea leaf - ginger: salad."
Well, so I was told...
I've been in Myanmar for one week now, and my vocabulary has grown to hello, thank you, the numbers from one to ten, tea leaf salad, and ginger salad.

Just the absolute essentials!

I had been wondering whether tea leaf salads really existed here or whether they were just a Westernized chop suey version of a real Myanmar dish. Then today, with the help of a local colleague, I discovered a stall near the office that sells both salads. Yum!

I confess I had it for both lunch and dinner. They give it to you in a little baggie if you want it to go. Both orders together totaled 1,000 kyat, which is less than one USD. How much is the same dish at Burma Superstar Restaurant back home? I just checked-- ten dollars per dish...

Adding all of the goodies

Mixing it all up
To go, please!
Less than one dollar?
